Game Sales are Dominating Entertainment

I wonder why? Probably because they are better! Check out the new sales of video games:

Console games sold 6.6 billion

Handheld games sold 2.0 billion

PC sold .9 Billion

Here is something interesting. You always hear that PC gaming is better than console gaming. I think if that were the case than the sales would prove it, no?

I wanted to thank all of my readers for increasing my blogs potential and helping me know that I am loved! I LOVE YOU TOO! So, in an effort to expand our ever expanding entertainment market (of course gaming), I would like to extend a warm wish for everyone in the new year and say to all of you…keep playing! This upcoming year is huge for gaming and I will have to say that many of our old gen fans will be looking to move over to the next gen category. Also, there are an insane load of games that will drop this year.

Wii Dog and Cat Lovers Rejoice!

I know that many cat lovers out there were angry, violent, and belittled by the dog games that came out for the DS. I know you are out there. Steaming to break DS’s every-time you come into contact with them! Wii and Nintendo realizes your potential threat and have created a game through Ubisoft called puppy and the magical hat and Kitten and the Magical Hat. Why? because your a blood thirsty piece of meat and you have to increase your violence somewhere else when you play these games! I mean common Nintendo, why would you say that the Wii is not for kids and you pull these games out ad nauseoum! I couldn’t hold it in much longer, i apologize. I mean, common, puppy and the magical hat? Are you kidding me! I am punching my monitor while I am writing this to level off and balance the kiddy-ness with some violence. Well, they will be out there and we shall see how they are played. I for one, will not!

New Gamer Study

Indicates that users are starting to become avid mobile gamers. Mucho, mucho condolences to the mobile game industry to make sure games are not just for nerds anymore! It seems that 38 percent of gamers are also mobile gamers which shows that gamers play around the clock. They would play in their sleep if they could others predict. Surprisingly, there are many gamers that are casual who play mobile which shows why the DS has soo much backing as it does in both numbers sold and in customers. I think its a great found study and I think that one day we will all be in a game. Preferably matrix and my subconscious alter ego would be Denzel Washington. I am just saying is all

Fantastic DS Remake

It looks like Nintendo is looking to bring back the old school game YS and YS II. They are old arcade classics that are awesome. The difference between the old versions and today’s YS is that you can attack enemies instead of the friendly 80′s bump. Unfortunately, it looks like they will not be released for the US. The game will be upgraded to super 2d (but 2d). Four difficult settings are there. There is new bosses and modes that were different from the original. The game also has a 4 player option. Both games will, also unfortunately, be released separately and at full price. I guess it will appeal to the super die hard YS’ers primarily the huge .0001 % of DS users lol.

DS Tuner

It looks like there are many people who would like to watch TV on the DS. So much so, that the TV tuner was buried and now was brought back to life. It looks like it will release in Japan on 11/20 and it works by connecting to DS software slot and it sticks out from the top. It has a little cute antenna that is made well. It can receive 1 seg broadcasts (actually digital!). The product will be available online only through a Nintendo e/commerce site. Preorders for the system start on 11/8. Sounds like a good idea and I think it will sell very well. Sadly, Nintendo doesn’t seem to think so even though the TV tuner with the PSP sold phenomenally.

Halo DS and PS2

I am unsure if many of you heard about it but it was in production at one point. Here is the story to prove it. Lets be honest, when we first heard about Halo DS, I know there were a few Halo fans (including myself) who were super excited about getting the game on a hand held. I think it would have been one pretty sweet game on a DS. Most importantly, they could even have wireless frag fests while you are on one of the bullet trains in Japan! How awesome would that be? Unfortunately, the story was cut when Microsoft didn’t want to license the game over. I think that might partly be the reason why Bungie and Microsoft went splits ville (more story). In any case, my biggest concern is that they were overwhelmingly adamant that they could NOT make Halo on the PS2 (I think a few of us recall). So they were able to make a prototype on the DS which is less powerful than the PSP (proof) and surely less powerful than the PS2. Ooh, did I forget to mention that there WAS a PS2 version of Halo (more proof). But I digress and I hope Bungie gets setup and builds their version of Halo on DS. I think we can all agree this would be fantastic for any gamer.
