I wonder why? Probably because they are better! Check out the new sales of video games:
Console games sold 6.6 billion
Handheld games sold 2.0 billion
PC sold .9 Billion
Here is something interesting. You always hear that PC gaming is better than console gaming. I think if that were the case than the sales would prove it, no?

I was recently in the mood to play backgammon. I have to admit, the game isn’t what we would consider the new super high tech games that we know and love but we cant fight old school games because they put us where we are today. I also am a bit partial to backgammon because I used to play it back when I was younger with one of my neighbors. As wild as it sounds, she was about 50 or 60 and she would have the kids from the other apartments come to her house and we would play backgammon with her. This was prior to when we thought everyone was a nut case and it wouldn’t be okay for kids to go into someone else’s house. Perhaps we have gone crazy as a society BUT I digress. So I was thinking that it would be a great idea to play some backgammon games but since we are in the digital age and my site is all about electronic games, what would be more fitting than playing it on the computer online? I will answer that…NOTHING! That would be perfect! I did my searching and I found a great place to play online backgammon. Now not only can I play this game that love but I can visualize someone else online being that sweet old lady that used to play backgammon with me and taught me about the spirit of the 40s. Oh the things she would say! I also learned many words that were considered “bad” at that time which are fine now. The great part about the backgammon website is that they had some tutorials for people who are completely new or used to play but completely forgot like myself. I had a wonderful time and I have it saved so that if the urge comes back (which I know it will) I will know where to go for that “comfort zone”.

I wanted to thank all of my readers for increasing my blogs potential and helping me know that I am loved! I LOVE YOU TOO! So, in an effort to expand our ever expanding entertainment market (of course gaming), I would like to extend a warm wish for everyone in the new year and say to all of you…keep playing! This upcoming year is huge for gaming and I will have to say that many of our old gen fans will be looking to move over to the next gen category. Also, there are an insane load of games that will drop this year.

Lets get serious, two of the best franchises recently dropped the best games of 2007 almost back to back. Of course I am referring to Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3. I have played both and, if sales are any indication, they are the best games out now. However, you also sometimes want to get cheats for games. One of my friends purchases games exclusively for cheating. For example, as soon as he purchased Halo 3, he looked for Halo 3 Codes. I know that after I played Call Of Duty 4 through, I also looked for Call of Duty 4 cheats. It just makes sense and totally increases the replay value two fold!

..on your computer no less! I found a great website that lets its users play action computer games. The great thing about the website is that it has a variety of games and many of the games are actually kid safe. They actually have one of my all time favorite action adventure computer games on the site called Tomb Raider (there were a few movies about the game too!). The website even provides other types of games such as card, casino, and simulation computer games that you can play on your spare time or practically anytime. Check them out, I am about to head there right now to get my Tomb Raider on!

I have written before how many of the current generation games are entirely too pricey. Especially when there wasn’t much of a difference in regards to development time in a game (FF7 vs. Skate). FF7 had a far larger development team and was still 49.99 when it dropped. So why the huge change in price? I think its a sham and EA is looking to fix it. According to EA, there will need to be different price models for games in order for them to sell. EA states that, in China, they are giving them away for free and the current developers need to harness a frugal development or advertisement lead. EA is looking to change it to fit with the times. My concern is that PC games usually are 39.99 when they drop so why not xbox 360 or PS3 games? Good thing to think about.

It looks like Universe at War will be delayed until December 4th. The game was a real time strategy game focusing on war. According to many sites, it looks to be one of the best ones out this year and generally that states that will be the case until otherwise noted. The game is produced by Sega and I have said it once before and I will say it again, Sega is an awesome game developer. The game is being paused to polish up the game in order to make it look clean and developed. There are also balance changes that need to be tweaked within the game. It is a star wars type game but a real world strategy game. We shall see how it plays. More information from Sega will be dropped by early next week about the game.

I finally got a chance to play the Tony Hawk game that many people have been talking about. I have to admit I was ecstatic because I loved Skate and I thought this would rival it (as it has been one of the best skating games for the last 10 years). However, I have to admit that the game didn’t do much different to excite me. It was the same great game which kind of made it not so great if that makes sense. It was fun running around and jumping. It was fun slowing down the game to make specific kick flips but it still felt the same. The story is neat because you can go completely different ways and do different ways through the story which is nice. The city is made well and is easy to get through and find complex jumps. Sky is definitely not the limit with this new city. I like the new rap influence in the game but nothing that was too developed. It is longer than previous games and it does have a few ways to go about it to extend the game (including online) but overall I would recommend Skate more than the new THPG.
