Killzone 2 Developer on Blu-Ray
Killzone 2 developer stated that blu-ray is not a luxury but a necessity for new high definition gaming. His justification is that compression can only go so far. The level that they showed at E3 he stated was a whopping 2 GB. The developer also threw in a jab that the cell’s SPE’s enable the developer to make it do much more at the same time. I think he might be on to something because the new grand theft auto series was also in a bind when they wanted to make the game for the xbox 360. They specifically stated that the 360 DVD can only go so far and they were having a tough time fitting it into one disk. Lets see how this pans out but I do see an issue in the future for DVD’s.
