A Xbox 360 With HD-DVD?
Looks like it might be the case. A Australian company, smarthouse, had a Toshiba company spill the beans on a new type of xbox 360 which has a built in HD-DVD player. This is huge news for XBOX and HD-DVD because there has been a downward spiral on the amount of hd dvd movies are selling versus bluray movies. It looks like xbox just might have something. The console is reportedly supposed to have:
- A built in HD-DVD drive
- Larger Hard Drive (comparable to the elite)
- 1080P out of the box (also similar to the elite
- Built in wireless network capability
If xbox 360 can get the price point tweaked they might be able to sell enough to where the xbox will be able to harness the hd-dvd which one of hte complaints game developers have (not enough space). This can also give the HD-DVD movie sales a kick in the pants. Lets see how this plays out but it could be promising for 360 gamers (unless they did have developers use HD-DVDs to create games in which case all of you current xbox 360 owners will not be happy).
