Last Four Weeks Of Sales

I thought it was a fluke.  Did the PS3 really beat out the xbox 360 in sales…particularly in the United States?  In fact, it most certainly did.  It has been selling roughly 2x the xbox 360 and I am unsure if it has anything to do with the HD DVD loss that the xbox took. Surprisingly, last week the slashing of prices of the HD DVD player has really sought a huge jump in HD DVD add ons but a loss in sales.  I am unsure of hte trend but the PS3 is picking up some speed and taking a stern 2nd place week after week in sales.

RingTones

With my new phone, I wanted to see if I could find some awesome Free Ring tones.  I did some searching and it was initially difficult to find a place that I could use that would help me find these ring tones.  They were a bit difficult but I was finally able to find a great place that had good free ring tones.  They even had some cool, hard to find Country Ringtones that I was looking for.  They were even showing some great Rock Ringtones that were hard to find.  Overall, I would say its probably one of the best places I have seen to get ring tones and i will definitely go there again for anything that I am looking for.  Check it out, let me know what you guys think. At the least, its easy peasy to get them.

Console Sales

Sorry guys about the late post.  I have been in super duper busyness and it has ended up with me not being active as much I had wanted to be.  The sales of the consoles were a bit surprising to say the least.  I looked over the console war consort and I found that, as usual, the Wii has sold 274K consoles.  Here is some even more shocking news.  The second place console was the PS3 by 252K consoles.  That means the xbox 360 sold 229k consoles.  This is great news for the ps3 since it was having a difficult time selling consoles in the US.  lets see how this pans out overall.

My Grandmother

My grandmother was recently put into a nursing home because we currently cannot afford to keep her with us. The secondary issue is that we don’t have the constant equipment to take care of her on an ongoing basis. This lead us to the conclusion that we needed to do the right thing for her and give her the resources she needed to stay healthy in her latter years. However, before we put her in a nursing home, we needed some advise and I went to a place called bettercaring. They were able to answer our questions quickly and effectively as we were managing the transition between normal house assisted living to a full time nursing home. My main concern was that we always see bad nursing homes on TV that do not necessarily help the ones who need it but they assured us that there is a rigid process that many homes go through for testing and full time care. I gave them some pretty stringent criteria along with having one that is close to us. They did some extensive searching and found a few that were the best fit for us. I went to each one and before we put my grandmother there, i did some more searching and investigating. It helped to have a few to research rather than the hundreds that are near me. I thank them for their support and caring through this ordeal.

Blu-Ray Taking Charge

It seems as though day after day blu-ray is making bigger and bigger strides and hd-dvd is dropping their price more and more.  i was able to recently purchase a hd-dvd system with 5 movies for under 100 dollars.  It is unprecedented how quickly the prices are falling for HD-dvd but let it be known that it is dropping due to its lack of sales that it is recently seeing. The HD-DVD add on to the xbox can be purchased for 110 dollars now.  they are giving a last fighting chance, that’s for sure.

European Game Expo

One of my good friends is heading out to Europe for a game expo. He is as nutty as I am about games but the slight difference is that he can afford lavish trips to find the new and up coming games coming out. He will be heading out there and wanted a bit of advise from me. I told him that he should take LOTS of pictures and videos and, as always, buy travel insurance. If anyone who has frequently traveled can tell you its the most important thing you can take with you…bar none. I hope he has fun otherwise!

EA Predictions

EA has some new numbers predicting the console wars and how it will play out in the 2008 fiscal year.  They initially stated that they feel that the Wii and DS will continue to grow the strongest in the market and most of us say “D’uh”.  There was a difference in opinion, however, on the current market trend.  They state that overall the PS3 will dominate the xbox 360 this year which is an interesting prediction considering that they are tied in the market today.  The prediction they made was that it will outsell the xbox 2 or 3:1 in Europe alone.  That is a huge prediction considering the PS3 dominance in Japan.  Lets see how well EA knows their own market.

Golf Stuff

One of my good friends just started playing the Tiger Woods series of games and was totally on a golf kick. He was looking for Nike golf products that he could use in his new found love of golf. Unfortunately, he plays super poorly so he ends up yelling at the drink lady at the 9th hole every time. On a good note, he looks fantastic in his Nike gear yelling at people who had nothing to do with his terrible shot.

Game Sales are Dominating Entertainment

I wonder why?  Probably because they are better! Check out the new sales of video games:

Console games sold 6.6 billion

Handheld games sold 2.0 billion

PC sold .9 Billion

Here is something interesting.  You always hear that PC gaming is better than console gaming.  I think if that were the case than the sales would prove it, no?

Auto Stuff

One of my good friends was looking to throw a PS3 in his car but had a problem because he couldn’t find a good place to buy auto accessories. I gave him a few places and he found an awesome place where they sold all kinds of auto truck stuff for great prices which he could use in his crazy projects. I told him good luck and he’s insane for putting a 400 dollar machine in his truck.
